Warmup
Activity #1
Construct a Prism.

- Watch the short video below on how to construct a Prism and do one on the 3D graph below.
Activity #2
Find the Volume of a Prism with up to Six Sides.

- Move the red slider to select a height of the prism.
- Feel free to rotate the prism and view it from different angles.
- You can also check the Uniform cross-section box to see the cross section of the prism.
- Check the Volume of prism box to see how the volume is found.
- Now change the number of sides and repeat the steps above.
Activity #3
Constructing Different Triangles.
The base of a triangular prism has one side that is 7 cm long, one side that is 5.5 cm long, and one angle that measures 45°.

- Draw as many different triangles as you can with these given measurements.
Use one of the triangles you have drawn to measure and calculate to approximate its area. Explain or show your reasoning.
Here is an an incomplete net. Follow these instructions to complete the net and assemble the triangular prism:
- Draw an identical copy of the triangle you selected in the activity above along the top of the rectangle, with one vertex on point
- Draw another copy of your triangle, flipped upside down, along the bottom of the rectangle, with one vertex on point
Determine how long the rectangle needs to be to wrap all the way around your triangular bases.
Challenge #1
Here is a net.
What would this net look like when folded?
Challenge #2
Here is a net.
What would this net look like when folded?
Challenge #3
Here below are two nets.
(1.) What would this net look like when folded?
(2.) What would this net look like when folded?
